A difficult afternoon for our women as we come away from our match against Bath City Development with a heavy defeat in the league cup. The scoreline certainly doesn’t reflect the effort and commitment shown by the team. Every player kept working, battling and supporting each other right until the final whistle. Honours even in this afternoons SCWL fixture. Mendip controlled the first half but failed to take their chances, the Berrow keeper foiling us in several occasions with some commanding goalkeeping. We gifted two early second half goals through some sloppy defending but the game wasn’t over. Marlie Daniels first time strike from the centre circle rocketed past the stranded Berrow goal keeper. The momentum was with the hosts, and we pulled level late on. Izzy Mullins whipped in a threatening cross Liv Salmon got on the end of it slotting home to equalise.
